Donations and Projects
Student Council had our first blood drive of the year on September 8, 2017
In August, we donated much needed items to victims of Hurricane Harvey
We have set up a food pantry in the Student Council room
We will have a canned food drive and teacher service project in November
In December, we will volunteer with Community Christmas and the HeadStart Program
We will have another blood drive in January and again in March

Merit/Demerit System
How it Works:
If you do not attend a meeting, turn in a donation, or perform a mandatory activity, you will receive 1 demerit.
If you receive 3 demerits, you will be put on probation. If you are still on probation at the end of the 9 weeks, you will be kicked out of Student Council.
There are 3 mandatory activities that will put you on immediate probation if you do not complete them:
1. Selling 4 homecoming shirts
2. Donating 10 cans to the canned food drive
3. Selling 5 Buzzfest tickets
Demerits can be worked off by completing extra activities that grant merits. Obtaining 2 merits will cancel out 1 demerit.
Examples of merit activities:
Participation in Student Council spirit nights and events
Bringing additional donations
30 minutes of community service signed off by an adult
If you have any questions about your standing in Student Council, text Megan Downey at (318) 676-2880.
